What's On

Help us support Bury Hospice

During the next 12 months The Rock is aiming to raise £5,000 for Bury Hospice and our Cheer for Charity Day marked the start of the fundraising.

There is a heart donation point in the square where visitors can donate cash.

We also have an online fundraising page here if you wish to make a donation online.

Cheer for Charity

‘Cheer’ can take on a few meanings – and we think we can all agree we need a reason to be cheerful and we want to cheer on this wonderful charity and the work it does, not least in its 30th anniversary year.

On our launch day we held cheer sessions in the square for children to get involved with,  they received some pom poms to take home and also a certificate and helped to spread lots of cheers around The Rock.

We were also joined by dancers from The Carol Godby Theatre Workshop who helped us celebrate the hospice through music and dance.

The rest of the day...

On our Cheer for Charity launch day we were joined by volunteers from Bury Hospice who ran a fundraising stall with lots of activities taking place to help raise much needed funds – the Bury Hospice Cook Book, full of delicious recipes, was also launched.

Visitors to The Rock also had an opportunity to purchase Bury Hospice merchandise.
And Contributors to the book including Sally Carman, Jimmy Cricket, Peter Gunn and John Henshaw attended.

Community station, Roch Valley Radio provided the entertainment and our very own mascot Rocky The Rhino made appearances at intervals throughout the day.

All activity was held in a safe and social distanced manner.
