Shoppers invited to get creative this Mother’s Day.
The Rock Bury is calling on shoppers to celebrate Mother’s Day in a heartfelt and creative way by designing a unique card and sharing a meaningful message for their mum.
The initiative encourages all ages to take part and create something personal, thoughtful, and truly memorable.
This year’s activity follows the huge success of The Rock’s Birthday Card Design Competition held last summer, which saw hundreds of talented creatives submit artwork to mark the centre’s milestone 15th birthday. The competition attracted widespread community engagement, with winning designs displayed in a special installation at St John’s Square.
Building on that enthusiasm, The Rock hopes this ‘Messages to Mum’ project will once again inspire residents to get involved, share their creativity, and celebrate the people who matter most.
Laura Beal, Centre Manager at The Rock, said: “Last year’s birthday card competition showed us just how much creativity and community spirit there is here in Bury and the surrounding area. We were overwhelmed by the response, from children, families, and artists of all ages. It felt only right to build on that success and invite everyone to share something equally meaningful this Mother’s Day. We can’t wait to see the beautiful and heartfelt designs people create to celebrate their mums.”
The competition is open until 27th February.
10 winning entries will be on display at The Rock from 9th – 15th March 2026.
The winning designers will win a £20 gift voucher to spend at The Rock and will be invited to see their design on display in the week running up to Mother’s Day.
Shoppers are encouraged to design a Mother’s Day card in any style they choose hand-drawn, painted or digital along with a personal message dedicated to their mum or mother‑figure.
