THE Rock Shopping Centre has announced the return of its popular Christmas Parade and Lights Switch-On event following the overwhelming success of last year’s celebration.

Taking place on Saturday 7th November 2026, the festive parade will once again bring together local organisations, performers and retailers for a magical start to the Christmas season before concluding with the official Christmas lights switch-on in St John’s Square.

The event, which debuted in 2025, attracted hundreds of participants and spectators, creating a vibrant community celebration packed with festive entertainment, music and dazzling costumes. The line-up for this year’s parade is complete and The Rock is now encouraging residents, families and visitors from across the borough to save the date and join the celebrations.

The parade will wind its way through the shopping and leisure destination, featuring community groups, festive performers and seasonal characters, before culminating in the countdown to illuminate The Rock’s Christmas decorations.

Laura Beal, Centre Manager at The Rock Shopping Centre, said: “We were absolutely delighted with the response to our first Christmas Parade last year. The atmosphere was incredible and it was fantastic to see so many local groups, retailers and families come together to celebrate the start of the festive season.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing the event back for 2026. With preparations well underway, we’d encourage visitors to save the date and join us for what promises to be another magical day as we switch on Christmas at The Rock.”

Further details about timings will be announced closer to the event.
